Tell us if you need support

Some people need support to use HMCTS services. You can ask for:

  • a language interpreter
  • reasonable adjustments for people with a health condition or disability
  • special measures to feel safe at court

You can also tell us if you’re able to attend a remote hearing.

Support before a court or tribunal hearing

If you need support before your hearing, for example a reasonable adjustment for alternative formats like large print, you can ask for support at any time during your case.

Support at a hearing

You can ask for support to help take part in a hearing.

Not everyone has to attend a hearing. If you need to attend a hearing we’ll let you know and you can then tell us what support you need.

Support for someone else

If someone you’re bringing to the hearing needs support, contact us using the details on the main page of your account.

What happens next

Once you’ve submitted your request for support, it’ll be reviewed by HMCTS or a judge. We’ll keep you updated on the status of the request in your account. If we need more information we’ll contact you.
